Essex recently completed the conversion of a McGrath's restaurant into an Elmer's restaurant near Valley River Center.

What first got you interested in construction?

My interest in construction started in high school when I spent a summer working for a family friend who owned a custom home construction company. I was intrigued by the process and the challenges.


The February edition of ORA™ Power Rankings highlights the Top 100 Student Housing Properties in the nation by online reputation for 2018. The Top 100 properties made the cut from more than 1,500 student housing properties across 19+ review sites and ILSs. our project The Patterson was a strong contender.


The online home goods store plans to offer more than 600 full-time jobs at the new location, which is scheduled to open in spring.

A decade in the making, Mountain Rose Herbs has opened its first mill in west Eugene with help from Essex General Construction


On June 29, 2018 the keys will be turned over to two tiny homes constructed by volunteers from Essex General Construction, Dustrud Architecture, Fifield Architecture + Urban Design, and many other donors and volunteers.


Make a gift of $75 to KLCC and Essex will donate 10 lunches to children through FOOD for Lane County.


Charlie and Julie Tilt needed storage space for their growing organic-food distribution business, Eugene-based Hummingbird Wholesale.


We are starting construction this month on the Midtown Arts Center, a $20 million multi-story building that will provide offices and rehearsal space for Eugene Ballet and other arts groups, plus homes for people who want to live near downtown Eugene.

Eugene Developer planning new mixed-use development at 16th & Pearl. The building will provide apartments, condominiums, and house local arts organizations.


Essex is currently working on some interesting projects that will bring density to the City, while providing homes to some great local arts organizations.


Essex' client HIV Alliance created a landscape at their new headquarters that will enhance the Long Tom Watershed.
