Excerpts from a letter dated 4/27/99:
...At each step of the process, Essex
General Construction worked hard to ensure that the interests of Goodwill
Industries were kept foremost in mind. Every Essex General Construction
employee with whom I came in contact exemplified the highest standards of
professional pride, workmanship, and desire to ensure that the end product
exceeded the expectations of Goodwill Industries. Essex General
Construction took full accountability for every aspect of the project, and
was quick to follow up on any item that required attention.
Of particular note were the site
supervisors: they kept on schedule; looked after details; responded
quickly to any concern we had; kept us informed, and provided accurate
accounts of all construction related administration. They often made
recommendations on how we might improve the project, and did so with an
eye on keeping the project within budget.
Essex General Construction was a
pleasure to have on board as a partner in seeing our project come to life.

"I
wish to express my gratitude and appreciation for the hours of labor and devotion
that you have given to our Oregon Ki Society building project...Through
your expertise and your efforts, the building project went extremely well,
despite the difficulties inherent in working with a volunteer organization
on a shoestring budget! Your energy, assistance and guidance have
allowed us to complete this funded training facility, and will help us to teach
children and adults for several centuries to come!
It was
really a pleasure to work with you on this project! Thank you
very much for all that you have done for us!"

Dear
Essex Construction:
It
was such a surprise to receive your beautiful fall floral plant!
Thank you ever so much for the kindness and good wishes expressed by you
on the opening of our new store. We are excited about this venture
and are pleased with all our efforts in the preparation of our
property. There has been much effort by many people in the creation
of our building, and your contribution was the basis for its successful completion.

Jon,
I
wanted to take the opportunity to thank you and your people for another
fine job!! Special thanks goes to Mark Bruer, the one to whom credit
must go for assembling all of the parts, and in the unexpected cases, creating
the necessary parts...

June 30, 2003
We approached our first
building experience with a great deal of trepidation If it did not
go well it could be expensive and possibly even halt the growth and
progress of our company.
...Upon our first visit, it
became clear that Essex was easy to do business with and that they had the
professional staff to make our dream a reality. Their management
team not only had the individual expertise, but they also had the ability
to coordinate the various disciplines in an effective way. They soon
vaporized the comments and horror stories we had heard from everyone, from
finance people to others, who had been involved in building projects.
When questions or
unexpected developments did arise, the Essex staff communicated
immediately with us, explaining our options and likely outcomes, again
illustrating their extensive knowledge and experience.
Our entire experience, from
the beginning, was one of excitement and fun. We will always remember
working with the staff at Essex as truly an enjoyable event. We
highly recommend them to anyone who wants the job done right.

And Essex "Thanks" the Community!
Essex is
also very aware and concerned about the needs of the community.
Essex contributes thousands of dollars each year to such worthy causes as
Food for Lane County (Jon Texter, Essex CEO is a member their Board of
Directors in 2004-2007), the ARC of Lane County (Association for Retarded
Citizens), OXFAM (feeding
the hungry, worldwide), Amnesty
International, White Bird Clinic, the Eugene Public Library, the National Wild Turkey
Federation (an organization to conserve wild birds nationwide), as well as
many local schools, young people's sports organizations, cultural
organizations and volunteer groups.

the many recipients of Essex generosity:

The ARC of Lane County
Essex General
Construction regularly donates to the ARC of Lane County (Association for
Retarded Citizens). The ARC's annual fundraiser also gives
individual employees of Essex the opportunity to contribute through
auctions and a dinner fundraiser. Essex was proud to be one of the
major contributors of "An Evening at the Chateau" in
2004.

FOOD for Lane County
FOOD for Lane County is one of the most
important causes for Essex General Construction. Essex has always
been active in supporting this worthy organization that provides food to
needy individuals, families and children in Lane County. Then, in
1999 we were privileged to be chosen to build their new facility.
From 2004 to the present, Essex CEO, Jon Texter, is also serving on the Board of
Directors for FOOD for
Lane County.
