Building this new 32,000 sq. ft. facility for one of Essex's favorite charities was a labor of love.  Essex worked with the organization to solicit donations and in-kind gifts.  

This innovative building is a concrete tilt-up building with pre-engineered steel framing.  Special engineering was required for the offset column framing on the clerestory windows.  It's design, that includes special day-lighting and energy efficient features, won the "2001 AIA Energy Efficiency Award."  

The project included new offices, a complete commercial kitchen, an elevator and a concrete pan deck mezzanine for heavy storage.  Special engineering was required for the offset column framing on the clerestory windows.
