Essex provides value engineering analyses for every project; alternate systems are evaluated to determine the best combination of price, schedule, construct ability, function and aesthetics for each segment of the project.

With Essex the value engineering process begins at the start of the project.  Typically, value engineering savings generated may amount to 10% to 20% of the construction cost.  Since almost all of the value engineering savings are generated during the design phase, creating a strong team of Owner, Architect and Contractor is essential to the success of the project.

Value engineering is Essex's "review process."  We investigate alternate materials, details and/or systems that will save the Owner time and expense during construction or after occupancy.  Whether we're reviewing design documents, conducting a formal estimate or working on bids and procurement strategies, Essex constantly works the details for the best possible value.

The Heron Building During Construction

The framing stages of building a 40,000 sq. ft., three-story building with a basement, with a steel, masonry and wood frame construction. The integration of the wood framing with the steel structure was challenging.   Essex reduced the cost to the owner by over $300,000 with "value engineering."
